Suffer From Headaches? Get Relief By Doing This

Posted by Vicki on 10/30/2018

Headaches can be debilitating. If you suffer from them, you understand what I mean.

No matter what the cause of your headache, the effects are very similar. The searing pain will cause the muscles in your neck to tighten and further increase the pain. This simple release can be done to help relieve the neck tightness and reduce the pain.

Here is a quick release to help ease the constant throbbing that occurs when you get a headache.

The muscles that control the eyes are located at the base of your skull and become very tight when you have a headache. Using your fingers, locate the base of the skull and firmly press into the muscles rubbing from the middle of your skull outward on both sides. It will feel very tender, so don't press too hard at first. After you apply the rubbing technique, tilt your head to each side stretching the muscles that attach to each side of the skull.

If you have or know anyone who has any of these symptoms, contact a physical therapist! Depending on your insurance, you may be able to go to physical therapy without a prescription from your doctor. If your insurance does require a prescription, we may be able to help you get one. If you are unsure if your condition can be treated with physical therapy, contact our office and we can set you up with a FREE screen to determine if you are a good candidate for physical therapy.
