Posted by Vicki on 09/04/2018

Physical Therapists are highly educated health professionals that can treat people from birth to end of life. Here are some of the most common reasons that people seek outpatient physical therapy across the lifespan:
  • Infants:
    • Torticollis - tightness of the neck muscles due to birth traumas or to abnormal positioning in cribs, play mats, etc.
    • Motor Developmental Delays - not meeting motor milestones such as rolling, sitting, crawling, standing, etc.
  • Children:
    • Motor Developmental Delays - coordination issues, difficulty with running, jumping, playing, etc.
    • Fractures, restoring ROM after a limb is removed from a cast.
  • Adolescents:
    • Sporting Injuries - ACL repair, patellar tendonitis, ankle sprains, shin splints, rotator cuff injuries, hamstring strain, shoulder/elbow pain with throwing, etc.
    • Growing pains - growing multiple inches in the span of a single year often leads to muscles that are too short for the growing bone structure.
    • Pain due to poor postures - increased use of electronic gadgets has led to increased pain due to prolonged time in poor postures.
  • Adults:
    • Headaches, Vertigo
    • Neck Pain, Arthritis, Tendonitis
    • Rib Dysfunctions, Hip pain
    • Shoulder Pain, Rotator Cuff Strains/Tears
    • Tennis Elbow, Carpal Tunnel
    • Low Back Pain, Bulging Discs
    • Knee pain, Ankle Sprains, Plantar Fasciitis
    • Post-Surgical - rotator cuff repairs, knee replacement, hip replacement, etc.
  • Seniors:
    • Balance
    • Falls
    • Fatigue
    • Weakness
