Getting your metabolism going

The biggest key to weight loss is having a high burning metabolism. It's like improving the gas mileage in your car, the higher the metabolism, the faster you burn through your calories. The first and easiest way to get a high metabolism is to drink lots of water. Water sets the thermostat in your body and keeps the metabolism high. I like this trick because it requires very little effort on my part. That's the laziness coming out in me! You should shoot for 80 oz. of water a day, that's ten 8 oz glasses a day.

The second way to boost your metabolism is moving until you are breathing deeply. Any movement that causes you to breath deeply will increase your metabolism. The best part about this trick is that your metabolism stays elevated for up to 24 hours. That means the 30 minutes you spent working out will last for an entire day! That's great news for those of us who think that the work isn't worth the time.

Getting your metabolism elevated also helps your body to get rid of a lot of "trash" material that builds up on your system to ward of illness and disease. Also, it reduces the adrenalin in your body that is released by stress allowing your body to heal itself faster. So, here's to getting the fire burning in your body!
