5 Tips To Reduce Foot Pain

Posted by Vicki on 02/12/2019

Foot pain can cause lots of other problems. When you can't walk without pain in your foot or heel, you get less active causing a myriad of other health problems. Often the pain in your foot is caused from excessive pressure on the arch that then causes pain in the heel, arch or achilles tendon. This is a common condition called plantar fasciitis.

The pain is often worse in the morning or after sitting for an extended period of time. You can reduce the pain by moving your foot up/down multiple times before getting up to put weight on your foot. Another good one is to sit with your leg stretched out straight and use a dog leash or belt to pull the foot toward you getting a stretch in the calf. That takes the stress off the arch and heel area. Here are 5 tips to reduce foot pain:

  1. Exercise
  2. Wear Comfortable Shoes
  3. Don't Go Barefoot
  4. Wear Insoles
  5. Change Heel Height
